I’ve wanted to go to Old Mill Tasty Shop for a long time. And luckily for me, I got a lunch date invite from one of my favorites, Sara! Bonus, her daughter Kathy accompanied us. Double-bonus, I got to order Girl Scout Cookies. Things in my life are looking VERY up recently, so I’m always afraid my house is going to burn down or I’ll get The Monella or something. That said, bring on Old Mill!

Awww. Isn’t it cute? I love downtown Wichita.

Disclaimer: I ruthlessly stole this image from someone’s Flickr account because I forgot to take one of my own. As far as I understand people don’t care if you use their Flickr images as long as you don’t make a profit (I won’t) and credit them (check it out). But if someone has a problem with me using the image, let me know!

Let me preface this by saying, I grew up in Colwich, and no matter how much pizza I eat (and I eat A LOT), I have never found a pizza I love more than Gambino’s. I have memories of going here after church on Saturday nights, spending many a snow day eating there, hanging out on quiet Sunday afternoons studying, or even getting to know the local police department on Friday nights (not for bad things, believe it or not) while my sisters finished up their shifts. I have nothing but good memories of Gambino’s and wanted to feature it more for nostalgia reasons, to give Colwich a shout out, and, well, so I’d have a reason to post some pictures.

Pizza is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy.

I FINALLY got to eat at The Anchor! I am taunted on a daily basis by tweets of their specials, but hadn’t had a chance to get in there and actually eat. At this point I was worried when I actually went I’d be disappointed (because being overly anxious often leads to letdown with me). Nope. The entire experience was great. And not just because I got to have lunch with my sister, Kristy, and Godson, Luke.

Sweet potato fries. Oooh La La!

Welp, another unorganized Thursday, another chance to eat on the WSU campus. My first two (yes two) times around at WSU I organized my schedule so I had as little downtime as possible. I never chilled out on campus, and never ate anywhere. I did have Miller Lite (I think?) pounders once with my bro-in-law in the basement of the RSC, but other than that, my exposure was limited.

I remember a LONG time ago (AKA “my first time at WSU”) Blimpie came to campus and I always thought it sounded good, but, like I said I never went. And then when I started working near 29th and Rock I’d go to that Blimpie all the time. Then they closed. And my life got a little less happy. So when Lynds told me Blimpie was, in fact, still on campus, I was ecstatic. I had no idea any buildings other than the RSC had food beyond vending machines. Well, apparently I’ve never been in Hubbard Hall.

“What is Joey’s favorite food?” “SANDWICHES!”

I’m very aware I reviewed Pacific Coast Pizza less than a week ago, but Kristy, Luke and I decided we wanted it for lunch yesterday so I took some pictures, and decided a second review might be nice. I’ll keep it short.

“I want you to want me!”
