Ate lunch at Playa today. It was delicious. So delicious, in fact, that I forgot to take pictures. Gasp! Sorry. So what did I get that’s brought me here even without pictures? I had their fajita taco salad. Or something with a similar name. It was probably the best taco salad I’ve had since JJ’s Corner in Colwich, America! (Which no longer exists, and hasn’t for awhile, sadly.) Fresh made taco salad shell, which is open on the front for easier eating. Plus fifteen points. Instead of ground beef taco meat (they do have a salad that way), this one has steak or chicken fajita meat (I had steak). Plus five points. And fajita onions and peppers. Plus ten points! Then I think it’s topped with cheese sauce. Plus eight points. Followed by lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream, cheese, and guacamole. Plus fifty-eight points. Hell yeah. This puppy was perfection! Perfection to the tune of what? I don’t know. Like 96 points. Out of how many? It doesn’t matter. All that matters is it was good!

Yes, better than OTB’s taco salad with honey mustard and ranch. Or however you order it, Karla. So much better. Trust a sister. Or come with me next time to get one!

I’d driven by El Rodeo regularly on my way home from class and always look longingly, dreaming of cheese dip. Well, one Sunday, I finally realized the dream. I tend to have Mexican food cravings on Sundays. So keep that in mind, friends. I’m always in for Mexican food on Sundays!

Felipe’s is hardly a new or unknown spot in Wichita. And I already talked about it in my west Wichita patio review, but a few Sundays ago I had a particularly moving experience at Felipe’s. It was a “morning after” and I was having a vicious craving for Mexican food and caffeine. And I ended up at Felipe’s.

At this rate, tomorrow will be a “morning after,” too…

Anyone who knows me know I love Mexican food. Moreover, I LOVE cheese dip or queso or whatever you want to call that melty, creamy, cheesy goodness Mexican restaurants serve. I may or may not consider myself a connoisseur. But I definitely like all things cheese. So when Jeanette suggested Mexican fair, margaritas included, I was in. Hey, she says you’re either in or you’re in the way. Get outta my way, because I’m in. We finally settled on El Mexico Cafe. I’ve only been once. She’s a virgin. Get ready South Seneca, we’re coming!

When I saw where La Posada was on the map and did a “street view,” I immediately remembered passing it when there was a lot of construction on Kellogg and I got off at Oliver. So I was excited to try it out. I sent my sister, Karla, a text and she said she’d seen it several times, too, and wanted to try it. Booyah! Bring on the Mexican food! Arriba!
