A couple of months ago I reviewed To Chau. I had some delicious pho and spring rolls. I was pleased with life. So pleased, in fact, I even took a run at making both myself. A few weeks ago I was driving around aimlessly, looking to kill time. And I drove near Pho Hot, and knew it was where I wanted to go. Disclaimer: I’ve been to Pho Hot before. And had pho. And it was delicious.

I’ll admit I was a little discouraged with myself for wanting to try something new. I mean the place has “pho” in its name. And everyone around me was eating it. Nonetheless, I had banh mi (Vietnamese sandwich). It was on my list of things I wanted, nay, needed to try. So I pummeled ahead.

Banh mi likey!

It seems counter-productive to save the boobies in lieu of the liver, but Crawl for Cancer was a fun event. And it seemed pretty successful. I don’t know how many teams they had show up, but it was a lot more than I expected. Old Town was filled with a sea of color… And daylight drinkers. I think we were the 36th or 38th team, so at least around 40 teams participated.

For the record teams of 10 (or up to 12) participated. You pay a set fee ($350 for a team of 10), get t-shirts, and then get four pitchers of beer at each of five bars. The order you hit bars is predetermined, and the beer choice is set (Rolling Rock). But the event was so much fun, the bar staff seemed to enjoy it. And I was schwasted, wedding style (during daylight).

Jeanette decided this blog was more stuffed than schwasted and we needed to remedy it. So on the most sacred of all days, 9/02/10, we headed to Quincy’s. Mostly to drink at will. But also to have a drink for the lameness that is 90210, especially Brandon Walsh. We spent the night drinking Bud Light draws on special (it was a Thursday), and had a Sex on the Beach shot, because that’s something lame B-Walsh would do on the beach. With a girl who’s maybe married, or crazy, or racist. You know, the typical types Brandon kisses. Badly.

Mmmmmm…. Beer!

I’m very aware I reviewed Pacific Coast Pizza less than a week ago, but Kristy, Luke and I decided we wanted it for lunch yesterday so I took some pictures, and decided a second review might be nice. I’ll keep it short.

“I want you to want me!”

Looking for a tasty, affordable spot to hit for lunch? I recommend checking out Pacific Coast Pizza. They have a 2-topping pizza with side salad lunch special that’s only $6.99. And I believe the other lunch special is a club sandwich with a side salad for $5.99. I was too excited to order my pizza to take note of the specific sandwich special.

And let me tell you, if you want options for pizza, Pac Coast has you covered! I recommend their rosemary whole wheat crust. I’ve forgotten to ask for wheat (the default is white), and the white crust is good good. But not “OMG, this is YUM!” good like the wheat. It’s light, fluffy, flavorful. Everything a girl could want in a crust.

As I encroached on the final leg of Patio Quest 2010, I was a little nostalgic. Nostalgic both for the days when my life hadn’t revolved around sitting on patios, and for the less humid spring weather. It’s been a pretty fun haul, though. So without further adieu, our west Wichita patios!
