Yes, I did splurge on a cheeseburger the night after my first test in almost four years. How’d I do on the test? Not as well as I felt like I should have, considering I’m eating a cheeseburger to make it better! But, seriously, I’d wanted to try the east location of Bionic Burger for a long time. I know (or at least I’ve been told) it’s not tied to the west location of Bionic Burger (which is my mom’s favorite hamburger), but I wanted to try nonetheless.

I’m convinced angels created French fries.

My recent trip to Blimpie resulted in not-so-great results. I mean, the sandwich was good, and normally that’s all that matters. But their lack of bread, knowledge and service left me wondering whether the place was maintained (read: clean). But before I wrote them off (and because I used to love the place), I figured I’d give them another shot.

My experience, after the jump…

Well, I certainly LOOK delicious.

Alright, who hasn’t heard of mother nature’s greatest creation? Denny’s grilled cheese with fried mozzarella sticks in the middle? I’m a sucker for grilled cheese after a night of drinking so when I saw this invention I knew it was created for me. The only way it could be better? Cheese sauce to dip your side of fries in. Yes, this mammoth sandwich comes with fries. I don’t even want to know the calorie count. OK, I do. But when I’m ordering I don’t want to consider it.

Cheesy, spicy, fried, bread. What else could I want?

For the past few days I’ve had lots of hits on here for Sonic’s new Spicy Southwest Breakfast Burrito. I think because of my post about the disgusting-don’t-waste-your-time Braum’s Southwest Burrito…. I’d heard the commercials, and I have to say I was mostly intrigued by the promise of crispy jalapeno strips. But the thought of a 1,000 calorie burrito first thing in the morning wasn’t very appetizing (mind you that was my estimation of the calorie count, stay tuned for the actual count). Always up to a challenge set directly or indirectly by my readers, I ventured out to Sonic. I figured, if nothing else I could start my morning with a Diet Cherry Vanilla Coke. Sweet, frosted deliciousness!

So far, I look like any other burrito… Kind of boring. Huh. Why do I like burritos? Oh, wait. OK. Focus.

Burrito: “Will you wish you’d had my cousin the SuperSonic Breakfast Burrito instead?”

Only time, and chewing, will tell!

Welp, another unorganized Thursday, another chance to eat on the WSU campus. My first two (yes two) times around at WSU I organized my schedule so I had as little downtime as possible. I never chilled out on campus, and never ate anywhere. I did have Miller Lite (I think?) pounders once with my bro-in-law in the basement of the RSC, but other than that, my exposure was limited.

I remember a LONG time ago (AKA “my first time at WSU”) Blimpie came to campus and I always thought it sounded good, but, like I said I never went. And then when I started working near 29th and Rock I’d go to that Blimpie all the time. Then they closed. And my life got a little less happy. So when Lynds told me Blimpie was, in fact, still on campus, I was ecstatic. I had no idea any buildings other than the RSC had food beyond vending machines. Well, apparently I’ve never been in Hubbard Hall.

“What is Joey’s favorite food?” “SANDWICHES!”

Alright, so I’ve eaten at Chick-fil-A probably four or five times. All except one time has been while I was a college student. And all meals have been at WSU… Each time I’ve been disappointed. But, yesterday after I forgot my sandwich I caved and ate there. There were lots of other choices in the student center, but none of them were open. Ugh.

I’m sure everyone’s heard of it, but if not, check out Books-To-Go before you buy your textbooks directly from your university bookstore. I just bought mine for $50-$70 cheaper per USED BOOK (than the used price at the bookstore). Hey, every dolla you save is a dolla to spend on beer, right?

You can order your books online, but if one of yours isn’t listed or a used on isn’t listed give them a call. They can verify whether what’s listed online is updated (as the start of the semester nears, they’re getting in shipments all the time so online isn’t always updated). And they’ve even told me in the past when they expect to get their next shipment of that (or any) books so I can call back.

Then they pull the books you need, hold them under your name, and you can either drive through and pick them up or walk in. Everything’s ready for you, you don’t have to search for anything, AND it’s cheaper. How does this happen?

For some reason their phone number isn’t listed on their site. But I promise they’ll be nice if you call: 316.685.2665.

And it always helps if you have your section numbers ready when you call. I also keep the title of the book handy so I can verify they have everything I need before I get there.
